Remember when it was above freezing?

My original title for this post was "What happens when it gets above 32 degrees:" but I've had to rethink that since it's a balmy 5 degrees at the moment. However, a few days ago we got a little taste of above freezing weather, and it was delicious!

So, when it gets above freezing after many months in a deep freeze, you should:

1) Get on all your winter weather gear out of sheer habit and announce, "I'm going to dig out my red bike!" as though you've been waiting all year to do such a thing.

2) Head outside, locate the handlebars that have emerged from the snow, and start digging.

3) Dig for about 2 minutes.

4) Come inside and announce that you need daddy's shovel to finish the job. Oh, and you need a Mom to help, too. Your mom will oblige, for it is above freezing outside.

5) Go back outside and, with your Mom's help and daddy's shovel, exhume your trusty red bicycle from the depths.

6) Find that you have grown since you last saw the bike, and it is really, really too small now.

7) Get "hot" and remove your hat, coat, and mittens. There. That's better.

8) "Ride" your bike down the driveway and have mom carry it back up. Play outside with your bike for at least 15 minutes.

9) Call it a day....this above freezing weather is sure to return tomorrow. Or not.
