The Deer Park
When I was little, my grandparents lived near a deer park. We went there nearly every summer, at least once. Do you know the difference between a deer park and a zoo? At a deer park, you get to feed the animals :). Here's me (red), my sister (blue), and one of my brothers at the deer park circa 1988. The llama approaching us would spit. Awesome!
This spring, I decided that my kids needed to have the deer park experience, so we took a day trip to visit my grandma and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells, of the deer park.
Oh, and there were Smarties involved. Mason was thrilled.
Lily is usually an animal-phobe. She can also be a people-phobe, but that's a different post altogether. But on this day she wanted to get to know the peacock...
...and the elk. She also woke up the camels, which I unfortunately didn't get a picture of (do all camels have hangy lips?).
Mase enjoyed the rabbit :).

That's crazy! Where is this place? Joshy and Lella would be thrilled to go, except that Lella is afraid of deer lately. Maybe this will help her get over it?
