Just An Ordinary Friday Night

Last Friday evening we decided to finish up the processing of the two deer Shandy shot the weekend before. The two older kids really wanted to help..

Turns out it was a lot of fun for them and for us, too! As you can see, they helped grind the meat for sausage, ripped tape for the packages, and ran them down to fill the freezer.

During the waiting times, they cranked the music (the grinder was loud so the music was louder) and ran/danced around the house. Aside from worrying that they'd wake their sister (they did), it was incredibly entertaining and satisfying to see them helping out and loving it!
