My birt-day TWO WEEKS!

Well, my birthday actually is in two weeks, but that's not what I'm writing about tonight.  My baby girl needs to start adding the word "ago" to the end of her sentence.  Like this: "My birt-day two weeks [ago]!"

That's right.  My baby is two.  But if you ask her, she will tell you she's free.  And if you ask her again, she will tell you she's one.  And if you help her out and ask her if she, perhaps, might be two?  She'd say, "Yeah.  Two.  Happy birt-day to me!"

This age is so fun.  So much learning.  So much growing.  So much climbing.  So many bumps and bruises.  So much to laugh about.  A few tears here and there.  So many imperative sentences.  So much climbing.  Wait, did I say that already?  I could go on and on.

Nora-girl, you are a delight.  You make us laugh every day.  You are a little lover.  You are in love with your big sister and brother...and you show it in your bright smiles, your spontaneous hugs and kisses, and your insistance that they read to you or play with you.  You also show it by your constant desire to do whatever they can do.  You are the first just-two-year-old I've had who gets herself dressed, puts her shoes on the right feet, and finds her coat without anyone suggesting any of those things.  You just follow along with our crowd, and it's so darn handy (not to mention, cute!).

You can do a "fip" (somersault).  You think you can do the monkey bars, but really you just dangle and give everyone a heart attack.  What a sweet blessing to watch one, then two, then three kids grow and develop and still be just as amazed.

Sweet girl, we can't imagine life without you.  You are God's special gift to our family.  May He bless you in this next year and make your heart soft toward Jesus.  We love you baby girl!
