You've been waiting and waiting for this day, and it's finally here....you're 5! You are 48 pounds, and almost 4 feet tall. You love sugar and sweets of all kinds (I wonder where you get that from?). You love animals, small and creepy as well as big and fluffy. You love to haul wood with dad, as well as any other work-related activity, especially if it involves wearing your farmer pants, chore gloves, and mud boots. You learned how to write your name this year, and keep surprising me in what you know, even though I'm a totally lame teacher for you! Way to master your numbers and letters pretty much on your own :). You still adore machines of ALL kinds. You are completely enthralled by anything BiG. A dumptruck is just a dumptruck. But a Terex Titan is THE dumptruck. A fish is fine, but a whale is better. A boat? Sure, but how big was the Titanic in comparison? You sort of wear me out with your constant comparative questions: How many elephants would weigh the same as our car? Would the Terex Titan be able to carry our whole house? How heavy is our house? Would a whale be bigger than our house? How many of our houses would be as big as a whale? Could a whale fit inside a Terex Titan? And so on.
And God? Forgettaboutit. He's the biggest, most powerful of all, and trumps every calculation every time. So he does.
So, happy birthday, sweet boy. May God bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you and give you peace this year. We are thankful to Him for you!
