We're giving potty training another go! Armed with this ultra-cool gumball machine, plastic-lined underwear (necessary for being able to leave the house without reverting back to diapers), princess pull-ups (for big girls who don't wear diapers to bed), five days with mom at home, and pretty low expectations, we "threw the diapers away"!
The first couple days the miracle gumball machine got Lil to sit on the potty (fabulous!) while contributing to future cavities and a wad of gum 15-20 balls deep in her digestive tract :). Hey, that's a price we're willing pay for diaper freedom! Thankfully, after that the novelty wore off for the most part, leaving us with a fairly cooperative potty sitter - if not potty goer. The next couple days were spent with one or two surprises on the potty and several loads of laundry! And then today we've managed to get all the potty in the potty, so to speak. Yay! I suppose the next step will be getting Lily to decide on her own when the need arises, but we can be patient for that. I'm not declaring victory just yet, but a pretty good start! :)
